K-State Concert Band Clinic
For those of you coming to K-State next Friday:
Remember to have money for food. I would encourage you to bring breakfast bars or something for the mornings. There is not a continental breakfast at the hotel. They do have a restaurant, but it is NOT free.
Make sure that you have: your instrument, a folding music stand, extra reeds and all other instrument accessories and dress clothes for the concert.
There are auditions when we arrive on Friday. These are low pressure and you do not need to prepare any music for them. It is just a way to quickly fill the 6 clinic ensembles.
You must be on time and present at all activities during the weekend.
This will be a great weekend and you will learn a lot, so have fun!

Band members:
Friday night brings us to our last football game performance. Please come ready to cheer on our Eagles to what will hopefully be a big win!
- Call time for Friday is like the first game of the season. Be here dressed and ready to play at 6:15.
- Pregame will be just like the first game as well. We will march the team to the field, play Go Big Red while they run through, and then the Fight Song for the cheerleaders.
- Band will perform the National Anthem this week, and then we will march of to the Fight Song one time through.
- Seniors will be recognized first at half-time and then we will perform our entire half-time show. Let's make it the best performance of the season!
- Unfortunately we had several people late getting back to play for the 4th quarter break at the last home game, and as such, will not have the 3rd quarter off this week. You must ask for permission to use the restroom or get food and beverages. Please plans accordingly.

State Fair Trip
Congratulations KHS Band on a great trip and two great performances today! I'm proud to say that you all represented Kingman in a very professional and mature way.
I would like to also congratulate you on your Excellent rating at the State Fair and your Superior rating at the downtown parade!
I hope you all had a great night and slept well, we are now looking forward to our first football game on Friday night!
Marching Shoes
If you don't yet have your marching shoes and you ordered new shoes, you need to bring $24 ASAP to pay for them. If you can bring it tomorrow, that would be best.
Shakos (Marching Hats)
Shakos will be distributed Wednesday morning as you arrive. You must have your hair up in the shako. I will distribute plumes this day as well. Plumes will be turned in on the bus on the way back from Hutchinson after our successful trip to the Fair.
Week of September 12
This is going to be a BUSY week for us.
Wednesday, Sept. 14th is our trip the Kansas State Fair to perform in the parade and at the State Fairgrounds. You must be at school by 6:50am to get dressed and ready to load the bus. Make sure that you bring your band shirt, and other clothes to wear at the fair after we have performed. The bus will depart KHS at 7:15. If you miss the bus, you will be required to get yourself to Hutchinson on your own. If you are planning on riding home from the fair with your parents, I must either have a signed not from them stating this, or they must come talk to me in person. Below is an itinerary of the day.
Friday is our first home football game. I will post another announcement about the specific itinerary for that night. Make sure that you have cleared your schedule for that night so that you are at the game to cheer on our Kingman Eagles!
Please be prepared for this week, it will be busy, but great!
